How to get a stain out of a suede jacket?

I'm not sure what the stain is. I just want something that won't harm the suede.

  1. First try using a gummy eraser. Sometimes I can use one by rubbing it on my suede to remove dirt based stains. If you have a steamer or an iron that can burst steam, you can steam the area, use a soft brush to agitate the nap and sometimes that will remove the stain. Be careful not to totally saturate the suede. If that doesn't work, you can grind up some oatmeal, yep oatmeal, with water to make a paste, apply it to the stain, let it thoroughly dry and then brush or vacuum it off. If that doesn't work, you need to get some suede cleaner at the shoe repair or discounter. Tenderly is a good one, but whichever kind you use, it is better to treat the entire coat. Why, because most of the time the cleaners work so well that you are left with a clean spot right where you used it making the rest of the coat look grungy and dirty.
